I've been able to install Mate 2014-04 32-bit, and update the OS using Synaptic, but I haven't been able to successfully install Guest Additions to render the window full screen or use shared folders. There are no Guest Additions problems with two other 32-bit guests: Windows XP and LinuxMint.
I'm using VirtualBox v4.3.12 because the latest v4.3.14 is not compatible with Windows (I tried and it failed spectacularly) and I'm having trouble with Guest Additions for PCLOS. I'm starting here but I don't mind if you tell me I should post this question on the VirtualBox forum.
